Project Manager (Stainless Steel Fabrication & Engineering)

Tīra welds together the largest group of specialty steel fabrication companies in New Zealand, creating world-leading stainless steel and specialty alloy solutions. We operate in a diverse range of industries that people need to live and work - including dairy and food, beverage, water, chemical, pharmaceutical, transport and energy.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Hamilton team. This role is exciting and challenging as you work directly with the workshop team on projects that span various industries for both domestic and international customers.
What will you be doing:
- Project Management - bringing sound engineering principles, excellent planning, risk mitigation and communication will ensure all parties have the correct information for project delivery.
- Delivering outcomes - this role has a unique opportunity to work directly with the skilled team who design, draw and fabricate our product and you will be responsible for the delivery of a project to budget and on time and to quality spec.
- Financial forecasting and planning
- Preparing estimates
- Project Innovation - brining a mindset to improve outcomes of project management through continuous improvement and championing best practices.
- Ensuring leadership to deliver project outcomes for Quality Control and Health & Safety.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent practical experience
- Project management qualification (preferable but not essential)
- Experience with managing workshop-based projects and understanding of job pricing including materials, labour and associated margin/profit calculations
- Familiar with NZS 3910
- Capacity to deliver against multiple timelines or projects
- Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and computer literate
