Site Supervisor

Lead the job from quote to handover

 

We’re looking for a hands-on Site Supervisor to run our site cost jobs in Timaru. These are non-tendered projects, small plant jobs and maintenance work for our customers. You’ll estimate the work, plan it, lead the crew and deliver it safely, on time, to spec and within budget. From time to time you’ll also supervise on larger tendered projects.

 

What you’ll be doing

  •  Scoping jobs, reading drawings and estimating the labour, materials and time needed, then delivering to that estimate
  •  Planning the work and running the site day to day, including the daily toolbox meeting
  •  Leading, coaching and developing the site crew, and managing subcontractors
  •  Owning frontline health and safety: acting as permit receiver, writing JSAs and making sure risks are managed
  •  Owning quality: making sure work meets drawings, specifications and codes, and completing ITPs
  •  Tracking hours, materials and costs, and flagging changes, variations and risks early
  •  Building strong relationships

 

What you’ll bring

  •   Stainless steel fabrication experience, ideally in a food and beverage environment
  •   Frontline management experience: you know how to lead a team, set clear expectations and get results
  •   A good sense of how long a job will take, and a track record of delivering on it
  •   Open, clear communication with your crew, customers and the wider Tīra team
  •   Willingness to learn our computer systems. You don’t have to be an expert, just keen to learn
  •   A trade certificate, strong organisation skills and a practical, proactive approach to solving problems
